PROGRAM NOTE
The Orgelbüchlein (Little Organ Book) BWV 599−644 is a set of 46 chorale preludes for organ by Johann Sebastian Bach. The original plan was to finish a collection of 164 settings of chorale tunes sung during the Church year so that each part of the year was represented, but the set was unfinished.
This original piece, however, is a distorted approach to that work. It is a brand new personal twisted and curled version of Bach's masterpiece. It is as if the art of Johann Sebastian Bach had been reflected through a broken mirror.
The idea of revisiting, recreating, and reinterpreting the art of the past came from my admiration to Pablo Picasso’s "Las Meninas" which is based on the famous painting by Diego Velázquez.
